Sixteen members of the German Parliament from the CDU/CSU and the SPD – among them our second chairman Leni Breymaier – call on all prime ministers to keep the brothels in their countries closed. In view of the Corona crisis, it would be negligent to reopen the brothels for health reasons. In addition, the parliamentarians make it clear that they consider prostitution to be inhumane, destructive and misogynistic:
Germany’s brothels are closed. What does that mean for the women? And why does the pro-prostitution lobby lament a threatening “homelessness”? And: will the Cologne mega-brothel “Pascha” really get short-time allowance from the Corona rescue funds for the economy?

On behalf of the undersigned, sex trade survivors, frontline service providers, and women’s and human rights activists, each dedicated to ending the sex trafficking and prostitution of women and girls in our respective countries and worldwide, we have the honor to transmit this letter to you.
We from “SISTERS – for the exit from prostitution! e.V.” will regularly inform you here on our website about our public relations work and will share with you various media reports on our activities. Today, however, we give you an insight into our practical work which is an essential part of our commitment.
The first chairwoman of SISTERS e.V., Sabine Constabel, was invited as an expert to a committee of the Council of Europe in Paris on 6 September 2019.
In its opinion, it was able to present the situation in Germany and to draw attention to the fatal consequences of ‘liberalisation’.
By the end of the year, the Committee plans to call on member states to act with the report “Concerted Action against Trafficking in Human Beings”.
